Sample Biographies

Ross Daniel

A 25 year industry veteran. Ross has helped countless clients get the most from their IT provision. He is particularly focused on the Client Relationship Management aspects of service provision and management.

Prior to co-founding Applio Ltd. Ross Daniel was the Outsourcing Practice Manager for a global IT Services organisation.  He has held consultancy, sales and delivery leadership roles during his career. 

Ross Daniel has been responsible for service definition, transition and management of a number of long-term outsourcing engagements that have been founded on business value realisation and continual service realignment to changing business and technical environments.

His experience spans the IT Governance challenges facing both internal and external organisations. For internal functions he has led application outsourcing procurement  and preparation, sourcing strategy and application portfolio optimisation programmes.  As an outsourcing specialist he has lead bid,  due-diligence and service level implementation teams.

As a global Practice Manager, he developed an Adaptive Outsourcing approach for deployment in the US, UK and India that was recognised as being amongst the market leaders by industry analysts.

Ross has been part of a successful management buyout team and contributed to the company's subsequent growth through the delivery of innovative managed services. Throughout his career he has championed collaborative working, measurable performance management and the need for flexibility to react to changing business landscapes.

Pete O'Brien

Prior to co-founding Applio, Pete was a VP at a major global IT and BPO services provider. A 20 year career spanning a wide variety of management roles has given him the ability to 'join the dots' of an integrated IT approach and a passion for ensuring effective organisational change.

He has held a wide range of IT roles including Service, Project, Programme, Quality and Transition management and leadership roles. He also has extensive experience of the IT outsourcing and service provision sales cycle having been an instrumental member and leader within a number of AO practices.

During his career, Pete has provided IT performance improvement consulting services to a number of Fortune 500 companies and many other large organisations across financial, utilities, logistics and local government sectors. He has also provided similar services to both software product companies and IT service providers. Throughout his career he has been committed to exploring and implementing improved and innovative ways of working. This includes the development and implementation, some 14 years ago, of a successful ‘agile’ life-cycle approach for his then employer.

Pete has experience of leading major improvement initiatives at a global level with a full range of organisational change management challenges. Having directly managed global teams operating across multiple geographies and timezones, he is highly conversant with the opportunities and challenges of global delivery models. 

In addition to speaking at conferences and publishing white papers on innovative approaches to IT management improvement, he has also delivered seminars at prestigious companies and institutions including the Bank of England. In particular he enjoys and is committed to a coaching and mentoring approach that allows clients to develop their own capabilities and self-sufficiency
